Triac applications
- General workshop fabrication – the heavy-duty workhorse for daily commercial use
- PP tank and ducting fabrication
- HDPE pipe welding (thin to medium wall)
- Vinyl flooring seam welding (with the right speed nozzle)
- Roofing membrane patch and detail work
- Long-seam tarp and banner welding
Triac vs Rion
The Triac is the step-up from the Techspan Rion for trade fabricators who need higher airflow, longer continuous duty cycles, and better temperature stability across long welds. For occasional repair work, the Rion is sufficient. For daily trade fabrication, the Triac is the right tool.
FAQs
Is the Triac available as Triac S?
Yes – the Triac S is the higher-output variant with longer duty cycle, suited to continuous structural welding. For production fabrication, the Triac S is the standard choice.
What heating element does the Triac use?
Most Triac models use Type 38 series heating elements. Always check your specific welder model – the element type is printed on the existing element being replaced.
Can the Triac weld both thin and thick plastics?
Yes within the hot-air welder range – up to about 6mm wall section. Thicker structural sections benefit from extruder welding for full-strength homogeneous welds.
