FAQs
What’s the duty cycle of the Rion?
The Rion is rated for continuous duty welding work but, like all hot-air welders, benefits from short cool-down breaks during extended sessions. It’s well-suited to daily repair-shop use and occasional fabrication work.
Is the Rion suitable for HDPE tank fabrication?
For tank wall thickness under about 6mm, yes – with PE-HD rod. For thicker structural HDPE work, step up to an extruder welder for fully homogeneous welds.
Can I use the Rion for vinyl flooring seam welding?
Yes with the right speed nozzle and flooring rod, but for daily commercial flooring work the higher-output Triac or dedicated Flooron produces faster, more consistent seams. The Rion is fine for occasional flooring work.
Buying a kit? The Automotive Kit and Fabrication Kit are built around the Rion and include matched rod, nozzle, roller and brush in one purchase.
