Why combined hot wedge + hot air
The Proton welds both hot wedge (interior contact heating) and hot air in one machine, switchable for the substrate. Hot wedge is faster and produces a uniform bead – ideal for production PVC fabric and roofing membrane. Hot air mode handles materials and thicknesses where wedge contact would mark or damage the surface.

FAQs
What’s the production speed?
Production speed depends on substrate, but automatic overlap welders typically run 3-5x faster than hand welding. For long straight seams on PVC tarp or membrane, the productivity gain is substantial.
Does it weld both PVC and TPO?
Yes. The Proton handles PVC fabric, TPO roofing, reinforced membrane and most flexible welded plastics. Set temperature, speed and pressure to suit the substrate.
When should I choose a wedge-only or air-only welder?
Wedge-only welders are faster and cheaper if you only weld one substrate type (production tarp shop). Air-only welders suit roofing field crews who need flexibility on different membranes. The combined Proton suits operators who do both.
