Training in How to Weld Plastics – with Hot Air
Plastic Welding – It’s not rocket science
Techspan New Zealand Limited recently visited the Hamilton Zoo to train all the staff in the skills required for Plastic Welding.
Staff at the Zoo are today using recycled plastic sheets for the construction of Animal feeder platforms, and most likely small enclosures.
The use of recycled plastic was chosen to eliminate issues relating to timber construction and the need to remove any kind of biological nasties, eg. Mould as timber degrades.
Techspan was asked to assist the Zoo staff with not only the Plastic Welding Tools for the job, but training to assure structural results are achieved.
Approx 10 staff were part of a special training course – covering theory and practical, Zoo staff were quick to pick up the techniques of plastic welding.
